What to expect

Typically, there's between five and twelve people gathered, seated around a table. We come from different churches and some who don't attend a regular church fellowship.

We would open with a welcome and any notices and prayer.

There are generally at least two longer Bible readings, taken from the Authorised (King James) Bible.
Comments or notes on these may be given but they are sometimes read for their own sake, personal reflection and conviction.

Singing is reverent and without instruments or screens, with Metrical Psalms and/or traditional hymns from a book or printout. We generally remain seated.

Talks and discussions vary eg. Bible study, updates on missions, to goings-on in Parliament.

We have a time of open prayer then close with a cup of tea/coffee and a chat.

ALL are welcome to attend.

PARKING
There is free on-site parking.

ACCESSABILITY
There is wheelchair access via a purpose-built ramp and disabled toilet facilities.

I can only get by bus. Is it ok if I'm a bit late or have to leave early?
Of course. Everyone is free to come and go.

I'm curious. Can I just come and sit and listen?
Absolutely.

What should I wear?
Anything you like, but we do ask for modesty in dress please.

Would I be expected to read out loud from the Bible or pray out loud?
No. Readings are typically designated to regular attenders, usually before the meeting. Open prayer is for any who feel led to pray out loud. Not all do.

I don't have a Bible. Can I borrow one?
Yes. We have spare Bibles for you to use during the meeting if you like. You are welcome to take one home as a gift, subject to availability. If you prefer, you can just listen.

I can only attend occasionally. Is that ok?
Yes, of course. Some can only make the occasional meeting. Some come once or a few times but don't feel it's for them.

Do you charge or take a collection?
No. There is a plate/bag available on the Welcome Table for any who wish to give to cover costs. The hire of the hall is currently £25 per session. (Two hours, including set-up and tidy away.) Financial records are kept and shared with the group at each meeting.

Do you have membership?
No, but there is a Statement of Faith/Belief as a basis, if interested. There is nothing to sign.
